“Modern Music”
Acrylic Paint on Masonite board
18”x 24”
In this work, I focused on building texture and depth through a dynamic composition filled with shifting light. I used an acrylic thickening agent to emphasize key focal points, such as the figure's hair in the foreground and the stage's illuminated areas, allowing the center to visually emerge and command attention.
Stylistically, I experimented with a combination of pointillism and impasto techniques to push my practice in a new direction. By layering color and texture, I explored how these methods could transform individual marks into a cohesive, expressive image, emphasizing both the physicality of the paint and the vibrancy of the scene.
