“Full of Surprises”

Paper mache, Resin, and Clay on canvas

8” x 10”

This piece began as a response to feeling constrained by traditional approaches to art during a more anxious period in my high school years. Created around Halloween, it became an opportunity to break away from convention and reimagine the techniques I had learned in my fine arts classes.

In this work, I experimented with a range of unconventional materials, including clay, resin, and tissue paper, to build texture and dimension in a more expressive, tactile way. The process was both freeing and exploratory, allowing me to push beyond traditional boundaries while still drawing on foundational skills. Ultimately, this piece reflects a moment of creative release, where experimentation and play became central to my artistic growth.
