“Tigro”
Seeds on poster board
11” x 16”
This piece explores form and texture through an unconventional medium, using a variety of birdseed to create the image of a dog. By arranging organic materials with differing shapes, sizes, and natural tones, I was able to build depth and definition without relying on traditional drawing or painting techniques. The work plays with the boundary between representation and materiality, inviting viewers to look closely and reconsider how familiar forms can emerge from unexpected elements.
Black and White Version
This piece was created as part of my senior thesis in high school. Alongside the piece “You Are What You Eat”, it explores the development of value through color and hue, serving as a study of how tonal variation can be achieved without relying on traditional shading.
